With this suite of paintings I have focused solely on the aspects of time presented in the previous body, viaggi nello spaziotempo, hence the vanitas and memento mori themes. They still engage in the hi/low dialectic that the previous bodies of work, but position themselves in the much more demure and contemplative tradition of still life painting rather than the high drama and over the top humor of a painting like "An Attempt To Slow the Expansion of Space."

Ultimately, these works focus on painting as a practice and tradition rather than as a de-constructible history.
